2 Why so young?

Janis Lyn Joplin (January 19, 1943October 4, 1970) was an influential singer, songwriter, and music arranger. She rose to fame in the 1960′s as the lead singer of Big Brother and the Holding Company and eventually a solo career before her death from a drug overdose. She was one of the most popular and influential singers of the sixties and is considered to be one of the greatest female rockers of all time. In 2004, Rolling Stone magazine ranked Joplin #46 on their list of the 50 Greatest Artists of All Time.

Further down in the ‘wikinfo’ under the heading of ‘trivia’the report mentions:

She once went on a blind date with conservative author and former Secretary of Education William Bennett. The link for this man, Bennett, reveals: William John Bennett (born July 31, 1943) is an American conservative pundit and politician. He served as United States Secretary of Education from 1985 to 1988. He also held the post of Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy (or “Drug Czar”) under George H. W. Bush.

Now, that’s what I call a hot (and dangerous) date! From memory Bennett and his brother, Robert, are among the many unsavory characters featured in Cathy O’Brien’s Trance. The title, ‘drug czar’ also bodes poorly when we consider how Janis died. Oh, but that’s right, it was ‘trivia’. The shame about many celebrity deaths that I have looked into (even if only in a shallow way at this point) is that, too often, their deaths have been ‘kept quiet’ (and none more so than JFK but that deserves an[other] entire book in itself). Furthermore, the name of the band she was chosen (by manager Chet Helms-now looked on as ‘the father of San Francisco’s 1967 Summer of Love’) to audition for was “Big Brother and the Holding Company”. Wiki says of Helms:

Chet Helms (August 2, 1942October 30, 2005), often called the father of San Francisco’s 1967 Summer of Love, was a music promoter and a cultural figure in San Francisco during its hippie period in the late Sixties.

Helms was the founder and manager of Big Brother and the Holding Company and recruited Janis Joplin as its lead singer. He was a producer and organizer, helping to stage free concerts and other cultural events at Golden Gate Park, the backdrop of San Francisco‘s Summer of Love in 1967, as well as at other venues, including the Avalon Ballroom. He was the first producer of psychedelic light-show concerts at the Fillmore and the Avalon Ballroom and was instrumental in helping to develop bands that had the distinctive the San Francisco sound.[1] Helms died June 25, 2005 from complications of hepatitis C.[2] He was 62.

One of Helms’ first partners (in crime?) was a fellow named Bill Graham which immediately made me think of the Masonic evangelist with the same name (except with a “Y” on the end of his billJ).

In February 1966, Helms formally founded Family Dog Productions to begin promoting concerts at The Fillmore Auditorium, alternating weekends with another young promoter, Bill Graham. As the concerts became more popular, inevitable conflicts arose between the two promoters. Within a few months Helms secured the permits necessary to host events at the Avalon Ballroom, an old dancehall located at the corner of Sutter and Van Ness. Big Brother and the Holding Company debuted there in June 1966 at the Avalon. Later Helms would get them the gig that made them famous, the Monterey Pop Festival where Albert Grossman spotted Joplin and offered her a contract.

Bill Graham, it seems, was:

… born Wolfgang Grajonca in Berlin, the youngest son of a Jewish family that had emigrated from Eastern Europe/Russia to Germany prior to the rise of Nazism. Graham’s father died when he was a baby. As it became increasingly difficult for Jews to survive in Nazi Germany, Graham’s mother placed Graham and his younger sister in an orphanage in Berlin. This turned out to be fortunate, as the orphanage sent them to France in a pre–Holocaust exchange of Jewish children for Christian orphans. …

A charismatic but often difficult personality, Graham’s shows attracted elements of America’s now legendary counterculture of the time such as Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, Country Joe and The Fish, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, The Committee, The Fugs, Allen Ginsberg, and, a particular favorite of Graham’s, The Grateful Dead.

That is an interesting bunch of connections, especially when one looks at Janice’s youth and her attempts to escape what must have seemed to her, at times, the comparative comfort of her upbringing:

Janis Joplin was born to Seth Ward Joplin and Dorothy Bonita East.[2] Her father was an engineer at Texaco. Her mother was the registrar at a business college. Janis had two younger siblings, Michael and Laura. As a teenager, she befriended a group of outcasts, including Jim Langdon and Grant Lyons, the latter of whom played her the blues for the first time. She began singing in the local choir and listening to musicians such as Leadbelly, Bessie Smith, Odetta, and Big Mama Thornton. While at Thomas Jefferson High School, she was mostly shunned. Among her high school classmates was another individual destined for stardom: future college and NFL coach Jimmy Johnson. In a 1992 Sports Illustrated profile of his career, Johnson claimed that he gave Janis the high school nickname of “beat weeds.” Primarily a painter, in high school she first began singing blues and folk music with friends.

Despite the attempts to position JJ’s youth as characteristic of a modest home, the combination of both parents working white collar jobs would have brought a degree of comfort but would have left her little time to interact with them. Whatever her reasons Janis showed, even at high school, an affinity with “outcasts”. From my own experience this often signifies a desire for ‘more’ than the status quo seems to have on offer. It may involve a spiritual search and, very often, leads to experimentation with, at the very least marijuana and, more often a whole gamut of ‘illicit substances’. This, it seems, was Janis’ fate from very early. At university the trend continued:

Joplin graduated from high school in 1960 and attended the University of Texas at Austin, though she never obtained a degree. She lived in a building commonly referred to as “The Ghetto” which was located at 2812 1/2 Nueces Street. The rent was $40 a month when she lived there. The campus newspaper ran a profile of her in 1962 headlined “She Dares To Be Different.”…

Around this time [June 1964] her drug use began to increase, and she acquired a reputation as a “speed freak” and occasional heroin user. She also used other intoxicants. She was a heavy drinker throughout her career, and her trademark beverage was Southern Comfort.

This is not a good way to treat your body-it is trademark of an unhappy, insecure person to be in such need of escape so often-I should know, I’ve done my time on the same substances. However, it was clear that Janis was waking up to the folly of (excess) drugs in the final years before her death:

Several months after recording the tracks with Kaukonen, however, Janis’ friends, noticing the physical effects of her speed habit (she weighed 88 pounds), paid for her to travel by Greyhound bus to her parents in Port Arthur, Texas. Whether she required medical assistance in her hometown at this time (April of 1965) is not known, but it is a fact that she changed her entire lifestyle, began wearing relatively modest dresses, a beehive hairdo and enrolled as a sociology major at Lamar University in nearby Beaumont, Texas. Though she avoided drugs, alcohol and bars that she had frequented years earlier, she still corresponded by mail with a methedrine dealer she had known in San Francisco and still considered his proposal of marriage. Shortly after the man visited the Joplin household wearing a conservative suit and tie, charming the entire family and asking Mr. Joplin for permission to marry his daughter, the man broke off contact with Janis. Very possibly, this heartbreak fueled the pain Janis displayed in her music. During her year at Lamar University, she commuted to Austin to perform solo, accompanying herself on guitar. One of her performances was reviewed in the Austin American-Statesman.

Unfortunately, wiki doesn’t give a name for this San Franciscan “methedrine dealer” although the subtext suggests that his identity (and links) could provide further clues as to whom (and if anyone) was controlling Janis’ life behind the scenes. It is also interesting to note the ‘beehive’ hairdo. The beehive is a key Masonic symbol, in itself. Curiously, she enrolled in sociology, eschewed the old bars and was, at least outwardly trying to get her life on track (if all the junkies will pardon the accidental pun). Yet, there was this one, obviously influential, guy to whom she continued to contact. She must have known he too was bad for her. Maybe he was just as escape valve; a last resort if she got desperate.

Whatever the case it wasn’t long before she was back in the spotlight making a big hit with big names wherever she went:

Like Jimi Hendrix, Joplin’s performance at Monterey made her an international star virtually overnight. (The D.A. Pennebaker documentary Monterey Pop captured Cass Elliot in the crowd silently mouthing “Wow, that’s really heavy” during Joplin’s performance.)

In November 1967, the group parted ways with Helms — who can be heard introducing them to the audience on the Monterey Pop CD but not the DVD — and they signed with top artist manager Albert Grossman, who had become famous in his own right as the manager of Bob Dylan. Up to this point, Big Brother had performed only in California (mostly in San Francisco) but they had gained national prominence with their Monterey performance. On February 16, 1968[4] the group began its first East Coast tour in Philadelphia, and the following day they gave their first performance in New York City at the Anderson Theater. On April 7, 1968, the last day of their East Coast tour, Janis and Big Brother performed with Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Guy, Joni Mitchell, Richie Havens, Paul Butterfield and Elvin Bishop at the “Wake for Martin Luther King Jr” concert in New York.

The kind of stardom we’re talking about is stratospheric and can be catalyst for fame and fortune but can be cataclysmic for others. For Janis, and others in this book, fame did them few real favours, imho (that’s, ‘in my humble opinion’ for those not internetting yetJ)

In August 1969, Janis performed at the legendary Woodstock Festival giving one of her most memorable performances. For 25 years after Woodstock, the only portion of her performance there that was available commercially — in either sound or picture — was a spontaneous dance she did with her band’s African-American tenor saxophone player, Cornelius “Snooky” Flowers, during an instrumental break. It is part of the 1975 theatrically released documentary Janis (film). Woodstock includes several seconds of Janis walking with her friend Peggy Caserta to the festival site in broad daylight hours before she went onstage, but this film — a box-office hit that Janis saw in a theater in 1970 [6] — omitted her entire performance, even the dance with Flowers. These omissions of her singing at the festival, along with comments from Janis’ devoted publicist Myra Friedman (present at the event) and from the post-production crew of the movie, suggest strongly that Janis was not at her best that weekend. At least one clean and sober audience member, however, remembered her performance fondly twenty years later. [7] The 25th anniversary director’s cut of Woodstock includes just one of her selections from the concert: Work Me, Lord. …

In February 1970, Joplin got clean and sober in Brazil accompanied by her clean-living friend Linda Gravenites, who had designed the singer’s stage costumes from 1966 to 1969. Janis was romanced by an American schoolteacher named David Niehaus, also drug-free and responsible, who was traveling around the world. They were photographed together in a crowd at Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, where Janis’ only vice appears to have been a cigarette. Returning to the United States, the singer then formed the Full Tilt Boogie Band. Composed mostly of drug-free Canadian musicians who didn’t associate with Janis’ friends from Big Brother and its San Francisco entourage, the band included an organ but no horn section. Prior to beginning a summer tour with Full Tilt Boogie, she performed in a reunion with Big Brother at the Fillmore West in San Francisco on April 4, 1970.[8] Recordings from this concert were included in an “in concert” album released posthumously in 1972.

One can see from the above passage that Janis was truly coming into her own. Having emerged from precarious teenage and adolescent ears soaked in the hippie/drug culture, Janis was immensely popular with the youth who, it could be said, saw her as something of a role model-particularly the women. The next paragraph of the wiki-entry for JJ was rather intriguing in the light of the direction of this book, as well:

As with the hostile reaction of some reporters to her first back-up band, not replacing Linda said a lot about Janis’ tough position as the first wild woman who sang to white audiences. She didn’t know whom to believe when she assessed people’s reactions to her music and physical appearance. The feathers and clothes in 1970 did not showcase her cleavage or sexuality as much as they introduced new people, even those over the dreaded age of 30, to … the unique celebrity “Janis.”

The curious matters with this paragraph have to do with the under 30 phenomenon that Cathy O’Brien mentions (and that would fit in with a eugenicists idea of fair play), the assertion of her mental toughness and the simultaneous admission she found it difficult to know whom she could trust as well as the rather odd assertion she was ‘the first wild woman” who sang to white audiences. There have certainly been many since. What about, say, Courtney Love? No; her turns coming up in Kurt Cobain’s chapterJ

Apparently JJ died in a Hollywood hotel from a heroin overdose on October 4 1970:

Janis Joplin’s last public performance, given with the Full Tilt Boogie Band, took place on August 12, 1970 at the Harvard Stadium in Boston, Massachusetts. A glowing review appeared on the front page of the Harvard Crimson newspaper despite the fact that Full Tilt Boogie performed with makeshift sound amplifiers after their regular equipment was stolen in Boston.

The last recordings Joplin completed were “Mercedes Benz” and a birthday greeting for John Lennon on October 1, 1970; Lennon, whose birthday was October 9, later told Dick Cavett that her taped greeting arrived at his home after her death. Joplin made an unlikely choice for the song she transformed into the birthday greeting for the ex – Beatle: Happy Trails composed by Dale Evans. On Saturday, October 3, Joplin visited the Sunset Sound Studios [13] in Los Angeles to listen to the instrumental track for Nick Gravenites‘ song “Buried Alive In The Blues” so she could lay down vocals the next day. [14] When she failed to show up at the studio by Sunday afternoon, producer Paul Rothchild became concerned. Full Tilt Boogie’s road manager John Cooke drove to the Landmark Motor Hotel (since renamed the Highland Gardens Hotel) where Joplin had been a guest since August 24. [15] He saw Joplin‘s psychedelically painted Porsche still in the parking lot. Upon entering her room, he found her dead on the floor.

Just out of interest I thought I’d get the lyrics to the song Janis recorded for John Lenons birthday, as mentioned in the quote above. Happy Trails, a theme song for a Roy Rogers tv show, went like this (I couldn’t resist including the optional religious verse and Roy Rogers’ Rules, too):

Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Museum
Lyrics to “Happy Trails” by Dale Evans Rogers http://www.royrogers.com/happy_trails.html

Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Happy trails to you, keep smilin’ until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we’re together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.
Happy trails to you, ’till we meet again.

Some trails are happy ones,
Others are blue.
It’s the way you ride the trail that counts,
Here’s a happy one for you.

Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Happy trails to you, keep smilin’ until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we’re together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.

Happy trails to you, ’till we meet again.

Alternate Religious Verse:

Happy trails to you, it’s great to say “hello”.
And to share with you the trail we’ve come to know.
It started on the day that we met Jesus,
He came into our hearts and then he freed us.
For a life that’s true, a happy trail to you.

Roy Rogers Riders Club Rules:

1. Be neat and clean.
2. Be courteous and polite.
3. Always obey your parents.
4. Protect the weak and help them.
5. Be brave but never take chances.
6. Study hard and learn all you can.
7. Be kind to animals and take care of them.
8. Eat all your food and never waste any.
9. Love God and go to Sunday school regularly.
10. Always respect our flag and our country.

A really cool bunch of rules that John Lennon and JJ would, no doubt, have clung to all their adult life … notJ It seems Janis’ last known boyfriend was a drug dealer named Seth Morgan (http://www.jfkmontreal.com/john_lennon/Chapter14.htm) Well, well, well. And to think he had the same, unusual, Christian name as her father. (This last link led me to a fascinating study on the same theme)

Janis …

overdosed on heroin at the age of 27 while drunk on cocktails she had finished approximately an hour earlier at Barney’s Beanery in West Hollywood. It is said that she purchased the heroin on Saturday afternoon in an effort to console herself when her boyfriend Seth failed to arrive for a scheduled date. [16] Joplin bought the drug from “George,” a large African-American man who made deliveries to her and other guests at the Landmark.[17] The hotel attracted many drug users despite the fact that it was next door to the Magic Castle, which drew a very different crowd. George depended on a “taster” to cut the pure heroin with another substance, but the regular taster was out of town, and a substitute made the batch too pure. [18] The same batch that killed Joplin also led to other deaths in Los Angeles. [19]

More fascinating connections emerge from the above paragraph when one considers the very different personages that frequented Barney’s Beanery and the Magic Castle. I mean Barney’s Beanery had an infamously homophobic sign erected (fagots go home) and it is well known that the magic set love homosexual sex. An African american called “George” is blamed for delivering the lethal heroin however, it is more than likely the dealer was somewhere down the real ‘food chain’ and the mystery man Seth was involved again, even if only via his absence traumatizing Janis and affecting her judgment-quite a common tactic (traumatizing the victim) of ‘controllers’.

Whoever “George” the drug dealer was he (or his controllers) did not like the evidence being followed up as this, final, entry from Wikipedia on JJ’s life, demonstrates:

Upon publication of Peggy Caserta’s book three years later, someone connected with “George” knocked on her door and inflicted multiple knife wounds on the woman who answered. Though the book omitted George’s last name, it described his looks and speech patterns, identified places where he made deliveries by car and explained that his customers telephoned him, as had Joplin. (This option was uncommon for drug-oriented hippies in the vicinity of the Landmark Motor Hotel at the time.) Unbeknownst to the assailant, his victim was not Peggy Caserta but rather a friend of hers who had never used heroin and had never met George.[21] The friend made a full recovery.

Unfortunately Janis, obviously, never recovered from her meeting with “George”.

Now, from African American as ‘perp’ we move onto African American as victim: Jimi Hendrix. I’m sure many people, including Jimi, wouldn’t consider him a classic ‘victim’ but, for the purposes of the theme of this book I think he fits very neatly.

Before their time

January 16, 2008

1this, first chapter appeared first on myspace but, for a variety of reasons i am going to write the following chapters here first, and post to myspace l8er …

BEFORE THEIR TIME

Since reading the deeply disturbing book Trance: Formation of America by MK Ultra (CIA mind control project) survivor Cathy O’Brien a couple of years back I have been contemplating writing something about the phenomenon of 20th century rock stars/’celebrities’ who died, in unusual circumstances, ‘before their time’. In recent times I have been home-schooling my 12 year old son and one of his particular interests is music. Having outgrown contemporary sounds a while back Lewis had become interested in the music of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. We began surfing You Tube and downloading videos of Johnny Cash, The Clash, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, The Skyhooks and a bunch of my old favorites. This initiative rekindled my interest in the project mentioned above so, the other night I drew up a short list of musicians to begin my research. The list comprised: Bill Hicks (comedian) , Jimi Hendrix (guitar legend), Jim Morrison (lead singer of The Doors), Michael Hutchence (lead singer of Australian band, INXS), Kurt Cobain (lead singer of Nirvana), Tim and Jeff Buckley (gifted father and son musicians), Janis Joplin, Graham ‘Shirley’ Strachan (lead singer of Australian band, The Skyhooks), Marilyn Monroe (screen ‘siren’ from the 50’s), John Lennon, and, of course, Elvis Presley.

The one that peaked my son’s interest was Janis Joplin. Lewis hadn’t heard of her so I downloaded Take a little Piece of my Heart, Me and Bobby Magee and (Lord, won’t you buy me a) Mercedes Benz to give him a sample of her raw passion and superb voice. The medium of You Tube is perfect for such research because it allows people to view (and save to favorites) thousands of music video clips, along with documentary snippets and the like (and a host of rubbish not worth mentioning). This allows the newcomer to capture not just the sound of the era but also ‘the look’. Oftentimes, it has been the fashions of haircuts, shoes and outfits that have interested my son the most. But he does LOVE the music and I’m keen to give him as broad an outlook on the subject as possible. So, as I was also too young to appreciate the genius of Janis, we both found an interview with Dick Cavett recorded the year before JJ’s death enchanting and revealing. For me the greatest sadness and revelation was that this lady was only 26 and died a year later. I had to go and find out how and why.

Next I went to that bastion of Zionist disinformation, Wikipedia (1), in order to get a little background-they can usually be relied upon for accurate dates and names, at least. It seems JJ wasn’t really born into poverty but gravitated towards working-class values and music and, before falling in with a crew who were into illicit drugs. Apparently she became addicted to amphetamines (something I see happening to many young people in my home city right now in the year 2007) and occasional user of heroin (despite many seeing her as a ‘heroine’) something which, unfortunately, often goes with the ‘rock n roll’ territory. Sadly, it seems Janis received plenty of drugs, but not a lot of love. Cavett even had the temerity to ask JJ if the ‘groupie’ thing extended to males chasing her, but she didn’t answer in the affirmative. The Wikipedia article mentions an on again/off-again affair with an amphetamine dealer that, finally (and apparently), led to her demise. However, it was the following passage, from that Wiki-article, that led me to, finally, start writing a book:

During September 1970 Joplin and her band began recording a new album in Los Angeles with renowned producer Paul A. Rothchild, who was famous for his work with The Doors. Although Joplin died before all the tracks were fully completed, there was still enough usable material to compile an LP. “Mercedes Benz” was included despite it being a “first take”, and the track “Buried Alive In The Blues” — to which Joplin had been scheduled to add her vocals on the day she was found dead — was kept as an instrumental.

The key name/word for me in this passage was “Rothchild”. During the last couple of years it has been my displeasure to discover this name again and again at the heart of the worst conspiracies, yes conspiracies (not theories), played out on modern mankind. Upon diving into the ‘wikilink’ to the above-mentioned record producer of that name I discovered a curious link to my narrative emerging already:

Rothchild is best known as the producer of all the albums by The Doors, except for their last LP with Jim Morrison, L.A. Woman, when Rothchild withdrew from the production after disagreeing with the group over the album’s musical direction (2).

Here, in one of my least favorite research sites I had found one name connected with three of the names on my list. Why should I be surprised it was Rothchild? Well, truth be known, I’m not. It was the ‘godfather of the famous Rothschild banking empire, Mayer Amschel Rothschild, who declared, “Give me control of a nation’s money and I care not who makes the laws.” If that statement alone isn’t sufficient to breathe deep suspicion into your mind there is always the following comment by his wife: The Rothschilds found war extremely profitable; before her death, Gutle Schnapper, Mayer Amschel Rothschild’s wife who ‘reputedly said, “If my sons did not want wars, there would be none (3).” And, should that not suffice (or if this triggers your interest further), do some research yourself into that name and things like “The Federal Reserve” banking system, WW1 & WW2.

The fact that the record producer called himself (or was named by wiki) as Rothchild and not Rothschild is a peccadillo when one considers the Rothschild family history and the pattern of altering names to suit (and deceive) various cultures (known in some circles as crypto-judaism or crypto-zionism). And, of course Wikipedia has the number 1 google reference to this subject matter. Surprise, surprise. However, even they do not contest such a practice exist(ed), although it’s main emphasis is on Jews hiding from persecution, rather than Jews owning banks or financing wars:

The phenomenon of crypto-Judaism, however, dates back to earlier times as Jews forced or pressured to convert by their sovereign hosts secretly kept Jewish rites. The father of Maimonides, for example, is purported to have nominally embraced Islam during the Almohad persecutions of Muslim Spain in 1146 (4).

So, you see, singular or plural, ‘angry’ (roth/wrath) child’s interested me for their influence on history, the future and now, it seems, even rock ‘n’ roll. Not that this surprised me, either, considering the amount of influence Masonic think tanks have had on the ‘culture industry’, via agents and the media over the years. Anyway, this Rothchild was highly influential in the music industry of the 60’s and may have given a signal to his allegiance by producing the soundtrack to Bette Midler’s The Rose. Anyway, he was pivotal with JJ, Jim Morrison and Tim Buckley. So, even if he wasn’t directly responsible there is certainly a strange trail of celebrity deaths that lie in his wake.

You may feel this is a long bow to draw, and unfair on a dead music producer of some fame, however this is just the sort of thing that Trance: Formation of America details as going on in the entertainment industry all the time. In fact, one of the most menacing things Cathy O’Brien mentioned in that book (for me) was the culture of control over many of these personalities. She mentions phrases such as ‘Presidential model” and “mind control sex slave” when talking about herself and people like Marilyn Monroe, another on my list. Although this is unthinkable to most people, there is ample evidence that the CIA did, indeed, run this programme (MK Ultra) for many years until supposedly closing it down in the 1970s due to leaks and lawsuits.

There has been a gamut of movies from Hollywood in the last two decades, also, that directly alludes to or details the activities and agenda of MK ultra-type personalities. The first I can recall is the Mel Gibson classic which was possibly only filmed to demonise the word conspiracy, effectively marrying it forever to the word ‘theory’. Conspiracy Theory was a great movie (like so many of Mel’s) that, despite demonizing ‘conspiracy’ also revealed the other side of the argument with regards to paranoia (the cinematic trope used to make Gibson’s character seem insane): “it’s not a theory/paranoia if they’re really after you.” Of course this was preceded by Frank Sinatra’s version of the recently remade Manchurian Candidate. Now, of course, we have Matt Damon with his series of The Bourne Identity/Supremacy/ Ultimatum which, if nothing else points to the endless variations scriptwriters can bring to this theme.

My thesis is that one variation of this theme, being used by the ultimate controllers to this very day is the MK Ultra control of the culture industry via mind controlled celebrities. In the chapters that follow I will trace the lives on my list and see if there is any merit to my theory. I have chose 12 (a dozen) because it is one of ‘their’ (you’ll get an idea who I mean by the end of the book) favorite numbers and it seemed manageable. I have also tried to merge the most spectacular celebrities with a couple of lesser-known personalities from Australia.

Not all of the celebrities on my list died by the MK Ultra cut-off age of 30 but, then again, not all of them are killed according to their timetable at all. Cathy O’Brien, for instance, is still around doing talks about her experiences with the man who rescued her from her fate. I can’t describe what a devastating read her book is; one simply has to read it to believe it … and even then with much incredulity and difficulty. All the same a good many of the 60’s and 70’s (years MK Ultra was admittedly running) ‘superstars’ died before the age of 30.

Let’s just, for starters consider the age at which these celebrities died:

1. Janis Joplin 27

2. Jimmy Hendrix27

3. Jim Morrison 27

4. Kurt Cobain 27

5. Tim Buckley 28

6. Jeff Buckley 31

7. Bill Hicks 33

8. Marilyn Monroe 36

9. Michael Hutchence 37

10. John Lennon 40

11. Elvis Presley 42

12. Graham ‘Shirley’ Strachan 49

No doubt you can think of others: Sid Vicious, Buddy Holly, James Dean …

Now, I’ll return to Janis for a while as she is the only female singer on my list; the only other woman being the actress/model Marilyn Monroe, although i’ve already changed my mind and will include Lady Diana Spencer, as well-not a musician or entertainer but an intriguing and important (late) celebrity herself for a myriad of reasons.

Unless otherwise stated I have used Wikipedia as a (most convenient) reference.

planespotting

January 5, 2008

100_23731.jpgif i ever get the time i might re-read “Trainspotting”, the 90s tale about heroin and trains, with an aim to writing a parody entitled “PlanespottinG” (the capital “G” on the end was a mistake but i’ll leave it in fake homage to the masons;) i came up with this idea some time ago after witnessing my first (and only) chemtrail being laid on boxing day in 2006. Since that day i’ve had a morbid fascination with what appears to be increasing air traffic in the skies above my head.

We live in an old suburb of a rapidly-expanding city in the south west of western OZ. Until a few years ago i don’t recall noting many aircraft in our skies at all-as a matter of fact they were nearly always noticeable outdoors simply due to their rarity. We have a tinpot, two-horse (or plane) airport that makes Mena look big (do a little cross reference with that airport and the name clinton for some fun). Some people take flying lessons and other aerial activity seems fairly normal with the expansion of population. Housing developments look extremely expensive and it wouldn’t be surprising to see many more ppl owning their own planes these daze; especially even more so a little further south.

So, most of the time my dashes to see overhead action results in nothing more than watching another legitimate pilot do his/her thing. But, i’m on the lookout for the bastards laying the chemtrails because we’re still getting them … often. Many of my friends suffer from respiratory problems and many of my friends are concerned about ‘global warming’. It is essential that one considers both chemtrails and HAARP (google them if unfamiliar with the terms) when contemplating that modern phenomenon.

I believe that, for the most part, the chemtrails are laid out at sea, but also over sparsely populated inland areas-and mostly at night. the ‘clouds’ are so huge it doesn’t take much for the prevailing winds to drag them over populated areas.

why is this necessary?

when military or meteorological officials are asked of the phenomena they deny the existenc, while educators are busily telling youngens they are ‘contrails’ or being used to combat global warming. also, msm has reported – over the last 12 months – that cloud seeding is operational in our area … to offset the drought, you know.

bah, humbug

i’m going for a bbq while the skies are clear.

Well, aussies you’ve done it at last … ousted the little weasel who had masqueraded as australian ‘leader’ for the last 11 1/2 years.

i’ve just watched ‘the insiders‘ for the second time this year. many pundits pissing in the wind. actually, andrew bolt was fairly cogent – and ‘on the ball’ – for a change. he picked up the absence of intelligence and agenda with alexander d(r)owner’s turgid response to the humiliating defeat: ‘no-one was waiting with baseball bats’.

the highlight was definitely the ‘talking pictures’ segment with guest Bill Leak and a cardboard cutout of Kev baby (C)Rudd. A cardboard arm with extended hand and digit was lightheartedly inserted into the cutout’s ear and bill promptly stuck the digit in his mouth for a suck (a la our new PM on you tube)-matt, i think you can supply the link here;)

finally, when asked what he would miss about drawing john howard, bill gave the definative one-word answer: ‘nothing’.

Journo Matt Price asks us to all remember the (c)rudd quote: “The buck will stop with me”. i hope the other journo’s DO remember but i anticipate them marching lock-step with this government just as the last.

here’s my blog from earlier in the day on myspace. As i mention there, i committed the heinous crime of ‘not voting’ yesterday, so i’m just waiting for the fine, which i won’t pay. because, what i’m really wanting is the opportunity to speak to a judge about this. Mandatory voting is acynical exercise when one has a choice between tweedledum and tweedle dummer. If i was given a menu with four types of crap on the list, i’d choose to eat NONE.

likewise, the ideological choices given to ozzies yesterday was the equivalent of political excrement.  i’m sickened by the process and looking forward to (c)rudd’s future with as much enthusiasm as i have for howodd’s history.

Below is an article from today’s media that mentions Australians must vote in less than a fortnight. WAKE UP ozzies! Neither of the two party prats able to win the election care about you. They are part of an elite agenda to keep the population in ideological, material and spiritual chains until ‘the crackdown’. Just as Howard ushered in a decade of progressively austere measures more suited to a fascist regime Kevin Rudd seems hand picked to continue in the same vein-irrespective of political affiliation.

Surely Australians will wake up one day to their sham-democracy. The two-party preferred system gives aussie voters access to a two-horse race, both of which are running for the same OWNERS. Yes, that’s right-owners. The corrupt and vacuous vacillating worms they give us to choose from to run the country have sold their soul to the big-end of town long ago. If they hadn’t they wouldn’t have made it through the strict pre-selection process designed to effectively weed out anyone not willing to toe the ‘party line’ all the way.

And they offer us this farce every three or four years in exchange for trust that we voted for them, thus making ‘them’ our government. The truth of the matter is that not one of them cares for ‘the battling aussie’, the ‘little person’ or the (despised but, oh so necessary) masses. Why do you think they’re called political PARTIES? each of them is having a party at the expense of the masses!

This polling day give them all a vote they’ll all remember: don’t turn up. It’ll be the kick in the arse they need to show them the game is up. a vote of NO-CONFIDENCE. And don’t bother with the opinion polls-they only reflect the opinions the elite want us to have.

Howard launches election campaign

Mr Howard (R) is trailing Mr Rudd in opinion polls

Australian PM John Howard has officially launched his campaign for re-election in the city of Brisbane. With less than two weeks before the vote, Mr Howard is seeking a fifth term but analysts predict a heavy defeat.

Mr Howard is trailing his Labor rival in opinion polls. Recent rises in interest rates, now at an 11-year high, appear to have cost him support.

The prime minister said jobs, childcare, education and affordable housing were his key policies.

He said a re-elected coalition government would introduce tax-free home savings accounts for all Australians who do not yet own their first home.

He also focused on the strength of the Australian economy, arguing that the nation would be gambling with prosperity if it elected a Labor government.

He claimed that such an administration would be lacking in experience and expertise, and dominated by trade unionists.

Paying the price

The Australian daily newspaper published a poll that showed Mr Howard’s centre-right coalition and the centre-left Labor Party with 45% and 55% respectively.

The BBC’s Nick Bryant in Sydney says Mr Howard is paying a heavy price for promising to keep interest rates low, and seeing them rise six times since the last election.

He adds that Mr Howard is fighting to overturn an appetite for change among voters, despite the country enjoying 17 years of economic expansion with unemployment at 33-year lows.

Mr Rudd will launch his party’s campaign on Wednesday, again in Brisbane, the capital of his home state of Queensland and a key election battleground where Labor holds just six of 29 federal seats.

Election issues to be the economy, environment and war in Iraq

Our correspondent says Mr Rudd’s detractors complain that he has failed to carve out a distinctive political personality of his own, and is too similar to Mr Howard, styling himself as an “economic conservative”.

His key policy differences to Mr Howard are the promised withdrawal of combat troops from Iraq and ratification of the Kyoto protocol on climate change.

Mr Rudd said that any policy promises Mr Howard makes are irrelevant because he has already said he plans to retire during the next term and will not be around to implement them.

“Because the government is increasingly politically desperate, what we’re going to see is signs of Mr Howard saying anything and doing anything in order to win the election, but with this added kicker – that he will not be there to own responsibility for it,” he said.

Hello world!

Welcome to WordPress.com.

Okay; so you may have heard of Bazra via TWOT (hard-copy magazine that lasted three issues) or through My Space where I have been blogging under the title of Troubled Waters Of Today and The War OF Terror, for the past 18 months. My real name is Barry Parsons. I accepted the name “Bazra” from a home-town acquaintance who took note of my sympathy for the Iraqi people during the early months of the invasion and occupation of that country by a coalition of countries, one of which happens to be where I was born-Australia.

The city of BASRA was selected by the British as the base of their ‘operations’ for the duration of their stay in Iraq for a bunch of reasons that shifted (and continue to shift) like beach sand. I still have all the headlines from 2002/2003 by ‘respectable’ newspapers and journalists echoing the tripe dished up by the PNAC (Project for the New American Century) warriors at the helm of American foreign policy. It is now modern history, a mystery, and a misery, that the grandson of one of Hitler’s financiers, Prescott Bush, has declared “war on terror”. Most of us know it better as a War Of Terror!

Part of that miserable history includes a catalog of renegade ‘leaders’ collaborating with a mantra called “Weapons of Mass Destruction” which became such a popular slogan that it came to be shortened to WMD, much like the Melbourne Cricket Ground came to be known, over the years, as the MCG. I always get a laugh when recalling ABC football commentator, Drew Morphett, referring to the hallowed ground, in an excited and wistful moment as ‘the G’. Perhaps-given the name of the perp-people could be forgiven for calling it “the W” for war, of course). And, given that Donald “Fake Sugar” Rumsfeld (responsible for the poison aspartame-google it), has said that the current ‘war’ in the middle east could go for 100 years, TWOT (the war OF terror) could very well be ‘the war’.

More to come …
